Tournament Rules & Regulations

SuperShot Basketball

These Rules may be updated at any time, with notice from Chinatown Fair. It is up to the Competitor to read these updated rules as they are released.


Communication & Community

Official updates, qualification song pool reveals, and bracket discussions will be handled through our community's online presence.


Signing Up For the Tournament

To sign up for a Tournament, DM us on instagram @chinatownfair, enter in store, or text 551-697-9923.


Checking In & Paying the Event Fee

Players checking into the tournament must come to the front desk, and provide their First and Last Name.


The Event Fee must be payed in full via Zelle, Cashapp, Venmo, or In-Store via debit/credit card before 6:00PM day of the tournament.


Attendance Policy

Players are expected to arrive on time at the start of the tournament. Players are suggested to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start of tournament.

Players who fail to arrive on time will have their matches postponed until they are the last match that still needs to be run.

If the Player who has not checked in still has not arrived at that point, they will be disqualified from the tournament.


Tournament Structure

SuperShot Basketball tournaments will always follow the same structure, however the amount of rounds played are based on how many participants in the tournament.

SuperShot Basketball - Match Format


Standard Match

• Each player plays one complete SuperShot game.

• Players compete head-to-head on identical machines whenever possible.

• The player with the highest score advances.


Equipment

• All machines must be inspected before tournament play.

• Basketballs provided by the arcade must be used.

• No player may replace or modify game equipment.

SuperShot Basketball - Gameplay Rules


Start of Play

• Players must wait for the official signal before touching the basketballs.

• Starting early results in a replay or penalty at the discretion of tournament officials.


During Play

• Players may only use the basketballs supplied by the machine.

• Balls may not be held, hidden, or intentionally delayed.

• Players may not interfere with another player or machine.


Score Recording

• The score displayed on the machine at the end of the game is official.

• Officials will verify and record scores immediately after each match.



SuperShot Basketball - Tie-Breaker Rules



If two players finish with the same score:

First Tie-Breaker

• One full overtime game.


Second Tie-Breaker

• 30-second shootout round.


Final Tie-Breaker

• Sudden-death:

◦ Each player takes 5 shots, whomever scores most wins.

◦ Continue until a winner is determined.



SuperShot Basketball - Conduct and Sportsmanship


All participants must:

• Treat fellow competitors, spectators, and staff respectfully.

• Follow instructions from tournament officials.

• Avoid disruptive behavior.

• Refrain from abusive language, harassment, or intimidation.


Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in:

• Warning

• Score deduction

• Match forfeiture

• Tournament disqualification



SuperShot Basketball - Machine Malfunctions


A machine malfunction includes:

• Scoreboard failure

• Ball return failure

• Power interruption

• Timer malfunction

If a malfunction occurs:

• Play will stop immediately.

• Officials will determine whether:

◦ The score stands,

◦ The game resumes, or

◦ The match is replayed.

Officials' decisions are final.



SuperShot Basketball - Player Responsibilities


Players must:

• Be present when their match is called.

• Report to the assigned machine promptly.

• Verify their recorded score before leaving the competition area.

Failure to appear within 3 minutes of being called may result in forfeiture.



SuperShot Basketball - Tournament Officials


Tournament officials have authority over:

• Match scheduling

• Score verification

• Rule interpretation

• Dispute resolution

• Equipment inspections

All rulings by the Tournament Director are final.



SuperShot Tournament July 3rd, 2026 - PRIZES


1st Place: $100 sent via Zelle, Cashapp, or Venmo and a $150 Game Card

2nd Place: $60 sent via Zelle, Cashapp, or Venmo and a $100 Game Card

3nd Place: $40 sent via Zelle, Cashapp, or Venmo and a $50 Game Card

4th-10th: $25 Game Card


*Prizes listed are based on 32 tournament entries. Prizes will vary based of actual number of competitors*


High Score Award



Highest single-game score recorded during the tournament wins $25 Game Card


Tournament Terms and Conditions

  • Media Release: By entering the tournament, participants grant the organizers permission to use their likeness, username, and game play footage in promotional materials, live streams, and post-event highlights.
  • Payment & Collection: NO CASH PAYMENT ACCEPTED. Card payments for tournament entry are accepted until 30 minutes prior to start time.
  • No Refunds: After the Entry Fee is paid, there will be no refunds, and we cannot assist you in getting one. Attempting a Chargeback will result in a Permanent Ban from the future Tournaments & Venue. Instead, please contact the Event Organizers, and they will waive your Entry Fee for the next tournament, or give you back the money in store credits.
  • Staff Discretion: Staff Members may make their own decisions within reason at their own Discretion, such as exceptions or for ruling.
